Want to save some of your hard earned money? Buy store brands on your next trip to the grocery store. In a recent survey, 40% of shoppers reported switching to private label brands since the recession hit. When put to the test, most store-label products are reported to taste as good as or better than national brands. Did you know that some private label brands are produced by big name companies like Bumble Bee, Hormel, and Sara Lee?

I have recently tried a number of store brand products from cereal to spaghetti sauce, and while I was initially skeptical of the quality I was pleasantly surprised at how good some of them are, some really are better than the brand name products.
